I'm a huge fan of Portuguese egg tarts, and I was excited to try Phu's Bakery after seeing positive reviews. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience. The egg tarts were soggy and not flavorful, and the packaging was poor. I've had much better egg tarts at Jim's Bakery. The other baked goods were decent, but they weren't anything special. The bread was tasty, but it didn't have much filling. I would recommend Oh My Pan Bakery to anyone looking for a great Chinese bakery goods. I know this review might sound harsh, but I wanted to share my honest feedback. I'm hoping that the bakery will improve its quality control and packaging in the future.

This is the second purchase. I have eaten all the Portuguese egg tarts in LA. Before, I thought the Portuguese tarts from Jim’s Bakery were delicious and mellow, but they were a little oily. However, after tasting Phu’s Bakery, they were sweet but not greasy, fresh out of the skin is very crisp. worth buying!

Enjoyed the Egg Tart and Steamed BBQ Pork Bun, but that is likely because I went in the morning and they were fresh. Ordering is a little awkward because you can’t enter the store and you have to point through the glass or yell through the plastic barrier. Cash only under $20.

The Portuguese egg tarts are great here but they also sell other baked goods and cakes. The location is located in a nondescript strip mall with plenty of parking. On the weekends, there could sometimes be a small line of customers. They require a minimum of $20 for credit card charges.

The egg tarts are delicious! I’ve ate the famous egg tarts in Portugal but they were dense and too sweet compared to these. Closed to go inside the store, only order at the door with one person working. Be prepared for a long line on the weekends.

We always come here for the Portuguese Egg Tarts only ($2 each) and parking is always terrible on the weekends. It is located in a very busy plaza on Garvey. The tarts are always good and fresh, creamy and crunchy. This chef who used to work at Jim’s Bakery. The store front and inside aint pretty so dont bring your date here. Custom service is a hit or miss. Minimum for credit card is $20. Sometimes they do sold out so call before going!

The place has the same COVID protocols in place, meaning you point at what to order from the outside window. Hard to tell if the bakery items are fresh thru the outside window. I bought egg tarts. The custard inside was creamy but too sweet for my taste. The raisin twist does not have enough butter in the dough, too much like bread and not Danish.

After trying it at my friend's place, I got to get me some of these. One of the best egg tarts I have ever had. The egg custard is very delicious, excellent creaminess, and it doesn't taste too eggy. The crust has a great crunchiness to it, very flaky. 1 dozen for $18, I believe it is a good price, each of the tarts is pretty big. My wife and I love it very much.
